Last night, Kimberly was asleep on the incliner sofa, and I was watching TV when a notice appeared saying, “Spring Ahead!” I thought to myself that the next morning was not going to start on the right foot. We would lose another hour of sleep, and I had to turn all the clocks in the house and our vehicles ahead. I also wondered what this would do to Kimberly’s biological clock and behavior.
Today, morning arrives without a hitch. Kimberly wakes up and says, “Can I get dressed?” I said no because it is a shower day for you. So, then I asked her if she knew what day it was. She said, “It was Monday.” I said it was Sunday. Then she said, “I know that it’s not Easter Tuesday.” Kimberly, you are correct, but today is my 70th birthday. She stared at me momentarily, and then I asked if she could say Happy Birthday to me. So, she repeated it to me. She stares at me again and says, “Can I get dressed?”
So, Happy Birthday to me, and welcome to my world. But it ended with a pleasant surprise: Jim and Jill, our friends, stopped by to celebrate my birthday with Kimberly!
